Damn everybody!...the commentz are starting to get sparse again. Need a lil' love here in the comment section to fuel the fire for all the work thatz being shared here. No love in the comment section is gonna kill the motivation to keep this good thing going......so take just a minute to say whatz up!
Todayz offering is a special one that has only been shared with a few people. I'm gonna give this up today in hopes that will generate more than the measly 4 commentz we received on the last post. If this doesn't work it just might be time for a temporary or maybe even a permanent vacation.
A big shout out to all of those that comment on the regular.....much respect to you!
G MAN
And much respect 2 the homiez that have shown their love 4 this album:

Hi G Man,
ReplyDeleteHaven't had a chance to listen to your last few releases so just just catching up.
Tear Drop Oldies is great.
Lots of strong tunes here but especially love 'Broken Heart' by the Day-Tones - proper soul music, no holds barred.
Many thanks for this.
Irish Mash
keep up the good work ese. oldies rule forever
ReplyDeletereally appreciate you homie for taking the time out of your day to post these classic rolas
ReplyDeleteClassic cover featuring a gem from the family album, G ! And classy tunes too ! My wife got that Petula Clark song on a set of CDs from my son for Christmas ! And I, for one, have featured her before. But keep continuing the surprises, and the rarities - you know we love them all. Gracias, compadre !
ReplyDeleteKiller comp from the vault on the G MAN... Firme all the way. Track # 10 screams "classic" and I am just loving this comp. Thanks again for another masterpiece!
ReplyDeleteNice drop from you guys..great to see music on such a rare posting. Eric C.
ReplyDeleteSoulin..lets push the music to one side for one moment - and look into the reasons why good folk like yourselves do this..its the love you have for Soul Music..it's because it's in your make up to want to share such wonderful music..it goes a lot deeper than the average thought - but all in all its really because you enjoy what you're doing and you wanna shout and tell the world about it!! Thats a cool call...but is it needed to say that if feedback isn't to your liking that you're gonna take a break or even stop doing all of this - that kinda gives folk the desire to post a comment just so that maybe there may be a great track in the future comps instead of saying from the heart their innermost thoughts on the tracks on a present comp. Having got that outta the way - Tear Drop Oldiez took a while to hit the spot..disappointed in the choice of Pet Clark's Groovin' & the Gallahads 'Gone' was average ...you folk have done better
ReplyDeleteSoul music covers a wide spectrum & everyone has their own particular taste. When work has been put in to compile a compilation in good faith, why should anyone comment about disappointments or that a given track is average? More than likely, it's probably the takers & non-contributers that complain the loudest or don't comment at all.
ReplyDeleteAs part of a music lovin' and creative comp sharing family, we don't do our comps so someone can comment or do them to the liking of comments. Since we have the music we are sharing here, we could just trade off and share it with each other. There doesn't have to be a blog created to share with people we don't even know. And if the tracks aren't so great, let's address the fact that WHY are you even here?
ReplyDelete(Let's push the music aside)When someone gives you something for FREE, the proper mannerism is to say "Thank you". Good home training is where that is taught as a child. On the right to have an opinion, it's like azzholes, everybody has one. But if you can't show respect and appreciation where it is due, there's alway that RED X in the corner that is useable. CLICK IT and you won't have to grab FREE music or worry about a making a comment.
That being said... Great work guys, nice cover and keep the party rolling.
Hola Mi G! Thanks for the killer tracks, Late for the party but U know me I gotta listen first! I love The Sophisticates - I Need You, fresh for me & I always love that.....Uh Sleepwalk? still gives me the chills!! Good job & love the cover & I know ur in there somewhere lol :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think "taking a break or stop doing this" is directed towards an unfavorable comment in you case anonymous. After all, it's only your opinion & there may be others out there that think those two songs are great. I believe all comments are actually appreciated & that the statement was directed towards those that always download & never leave a comment one way or another.
ReplyDeleteGood Look'n out on the comp, especially like the cover with the tailgattin' 4 the Raiders. Keep'em coming.
ReplyDeleteDOPE!!
ReplyDeleteVERY NICE CARNAL!...FIRME COMP ALL THE WAY!....I ALMOST SHED SOME TEARS...I SHOULD HAD A COLD BEER WITH THESE ROLAS...LOL!
ReplyDeleteI LIKE THAT CLASSIC ENDING "SLEEPWALK"....BRINGS BACK A LOT OF MEMORIES WITH THAT JAM...AND CANT GET ENOUGH OF THAT SWEET TUNES FROM ROBERT EVANS & THE UNIVERSALS....JUST TO NAME A FEW......
