Nostalgia Trip

I stumbled across this old compilation today and gave it a spin. It featured our old Chi-Town buddy, Mello, one of the original crew, who has sadly since passed. It brought back such fond memories of Mello, I thought I would post it as a chance for those listeners to reminisce who have been with us since way back when, and for those newer visitors who missed out on those early days of the blogs.

RossyBoy & Mello's Double Cross

This was a double cross collaboration which I think got posted on the undergroundsoul4life blog in late 2009. The concept was that we both sent six tracks to each other; then we reacted to the other's picks by choosing six further tracks each. The response track might be prompted by a word in the title, the group or artist's name, or something off-the-wall depending on the responder's warped mind ! But this particular one, the first double cross, never quite got to total completion because Mello had some kind of technical problem at the time - normally it would have been 24 tracks.  Not sure which of us came up with each track - it's been a while !  Hope you like this slice of nostalgia !     Many thanks RB. I still miss Mello. Mello seemed to have non-stop computer trouble. My son-in-law and I helped him a couple of times. I'll cherish this album and the memories of Mello Capone. Thanks again Rossy.

    Thanks RB, Sure do miss my Mello in every way..He was a honest human being who spoke his mind & knew his stuff & learned a lot from him..May he RIP :(

    Nice to see Mello remembered “in song”.
    He was a gentleman, generous of his time and his music..an all round “nice guy”.
    I remember our email conversations with fondness.
    Gone but not forgotten.
