Oldtimer Souldies Series: Northern Soul Favorites No. 1

The Veteranos just love to have fun ! So we've dreamed up this series to exploit almost 200 man-years of cumulative knowledge of soul music's many sub-genres. And we're kicking off with Northern because it's not the sort of music we tend to feature too often; nor would we pretend to be especially knowledgeable about this genre but we've picked some of our personal favorites from the many thousands available. Of course, a couple of my brothers couldn't help but pick some of their local Chi-town and Philly faves, so at least there will some lesser-known tunes to set against the popular ones in this set. The Frankie & the Classicals' track at #04 features the original spoken intro. And I've included a bonus track at #13 as a special request for soulboy. Let us know what you think, so we might be encouraged to produce more compilations in this series. Hopefully, you'll enjoy this upbeat "Feel Good" music. RossyBoy
