As one of the members was doing his homework he came across the name "Avon", which is a river in England & this is how they got their name. After their mananger walked them into the office of Hull & asked for a audition, they were signed on the spot...Hull Records was also home to the Heartbeats, Monotones and Pastels.....

11. Pentagons - Forever Yours1964 - Sutter Label formed in 1958 in San Bernardino, CA,aka The Shields,This group had two sets of brothers in the Pentagons' lineup & are remembered for two 1961 hits, one being "To Be Loved (Forever)" which I added by another group doing a cover on track 16

Steve Salas - Once Upon A Time2006 - Thump Records, Steve Salas was born & raised in Lincoln Heights, of Los Angeles, California, At a very young age Steve had recorded a string of regional hit singles with groups such as The Jaguars, and with his brother Rudy as The Salas Brothers. Salas has achieved performing as lead singer of the popular Latin Rock group “TIERRA” (I had the pleasure of meeting this killer group here in Chicago)

15. Earls - Out In The Cold Again1963 -Oldtown, Formed in 1957, New York, NY [The Bronx] who were discovered singing on the street corner in front of subway station, Lead singer Larry Chance attended school with Chubby Checker in Philly before moving to NY....
