Spaniels - Fairy Tales1969 - North America Label, From Gary, IndianaFor their first appearance they were known as Pookie Hudson and the Hudsonaires, later changing their name to The Spaniels after one of the members wifes allegedly said that the quintet sounded like a pack of dogs while they were practicing..When James ‘Pookie’ Hudson went solo in 1961 he formed a soul-styled Spaniels group in 1969 that brought ‘Fairy Tales’ to the charts in 1970.

04. Rosie Gaines - I've Gone Too Far1985 - Epic Records SInger-songwriter, and record producer from Pittsburg, California. Prince asked her to join his band The New Power Generation, She was vocalist and keyboard player on Prince's Nude tour. She also duetted with Prince on the live version of "Nothing Compares 2 U",

06. J.R. Bailey - All Strung Out Over You1974 - MAM Label, Born James Bailey, singer and songwriter. He was a member of doo wop groups, The Halos, The Cadillacs, and The Crickets from 1956 to 1972, He scored five R&B singles hits under his own name between 1968 and 1975, the biggest of which was "After Hours" He is also the author of the hits "Everybody Plays the Fool" by the Main Ingredient and "Love, Love, Love" by Donny Hathaway.

Bobby Taylor - Don't Be Afraid1969 - Gordy off his first solo album "Taylor Made Soul"Born in North Carolina, raised in Washington aka Bobby Taylor & The Vancouvers, Taylor successfully sued Motown for a substantial amount of money, Moving to the United Kingdom, he started an offshoot group, Bobby Taylor & the New Vancouvers....also Tommy Chong of (Cheech & Chong) was one of the Vancouvers! Taylor was responsible for discovering the Jackson Five.

13. The Blendells - Just BecauseThese are not the Mexican-American group from East Los Angeles (per Mark Guerrero) of Mark & The Escorts, but a soul/doowop group spelled The Blendels or Blen-Dells so I think this may be a typo on the other comps for The Blendells - Night After Night & this cut...
