DustyRose's Fairy Tales Vol. 4

01. Avons - Fairy Tales1960 - Hull Label, From Englewood, NJ. As one of the members was doing his homework he came across the name "Avon", which is a river in England & this is how they got their name. After their mananger walked them into the office of Hull & asked for a audition, they were signed on the spot...Hull Records was also home to the Heartbeats, Monotones and Pastels.....

06. Stereos - Don't Let It Happend To You1965 - Val Records, They were an American pop/rock/doo-wop group from Steubenville, Ohio who started out as The Buckeyes in 1955 & were produced by Pittsburgh's George Goodman, lead of The Headliners who also recorded for Val Records....

10. Richard Blandon & The Dubs - Please the Crowd1990 - Classic Artists from Harlem,NY

11. Pentagons - Forever Yours1964 - Sutter Label formed in 1958 in San Bernardino, CA,aka The Shields,This group had two sets of brothers in the Pentagons' lineup & are remembered for two 1961 hits, one being "To Be Loved (Forever)" which I added by another group doing a cover on track 16

12. Steve Salas - Once Upon A Time2006 - Thump Records, Steve Salas was born & raised in Lincoln Heights, of Los Angeles, California, At a very young age Steve had recorded a string of regional hit singles with groups such as The Jaguars, and with his brother Rudy as The Salas Brothers. Salas has achieved performing as lead singer of the popular Latin Rock group “TIERRA” (I had the pleasure of meeting this killer group here in Chicago)

13. Frankie "Loveman" Crocker - My Confession Of LoveFrom New York, NY 1972 - Astroscope Label (Reissue of 1969 Turbo ‘A’ Side)this track was produced by Sylvia Robinson, (The Moments provide an uncredited backing)

14. Dreamlovers - I'm Through With You1963 - Columbia Records, From Philadelphia, PA, Formed in 1956AKA The Romancers and The Midnighters...They backed Chubby Checker on a 1958 recording of “The Twist”)

15. Earls - Out In The Cold Again1963 -Oldtown, Formed in 1957, New York, NY [The Bronx] who were discovered singing on the street corner in front of subway station, Lead singer Larry Chance attended school with Chubby Checker in Philly before moving to NY....

16. James Moore & The Pretenders - To Be Loved (Forever)1964 - Tishman

17. Jackson 5 - Darling Dear1969 - Motown

18. Derek Martin - You Blew It Baby1970 - Buttercup Records from Detroit, MichiganAKA “The Golden Voice”. Noticed by Duke Ellington,he gets hired at age 17 as a singer in the Duke’s big band

A Singer, Nightclub Entertainer & Star of Motion Pictures & Television, She was a creative human being who put forth the effort to make everything she did a work of art. She died in 2007
